This Privacy Policy explains how Fast Gives (“Fast Gives,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit fastgives.ca or use our Android app (the “Services”). By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
1. Who we are
Fast Gives is operated as FAST GIVES, an Ontario corporation (Ontario Corporation Number 1001665362). We are the business responsible for the data described in this policy. Our contact details are at the bottom of this page.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address
- Account login details (if you create an account)
- Order details and purchase history
- Payment information — processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers
- Communications you send us (support emails, reviews, contact forms)
Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser type, device type, operating system
- Pages viewed, time on site, referring URL, click behaviour
- Approximate location (city/region level, derived from IP)
- Cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie Policy
3. How we use your information
- To process, fulfill, and ship your orders
- To communicate with you about orders, shipping updates, and customer service
- To operate features like wishlists, price alerts, and cart recovery (see below)
- To improve our website, catalogue, and app
- To detect and prevent fraud and abuse
- To send marketing communications, where you’ve opted in — you can unsubscribe anytime
- To comply with legal and tax obligations
4. Order fulfillment & our shipping partner
Fast Gives uses a third-party dropshipping and fulfillment partner, CJ Dropshipping, to source, warehouse, and ship products directly to customers. This means:
- When you place an order, we share the information needed to fulfill it — your name, shipping address, phone number, and order contents — with CJ Dropshipping and its logistics/carrier network.
- Products are fulfilled from a Canadian warehouse. Standard delivery is 1–7 days from order confirmation, shown at checkout and on each product page.
- Tracking information displayed on our site and app is sourced from the carrier assigned to your shipment; we display the actual carrier name and do not substitute or hide it.
- CJ Dropshipping processes this data solely to fulfill your order and is contractually restricted from using it for its own marketing purposes.
5. Wishlist & price-drop alerts
If you save items to your wishlist, we store the product, your email address, your price preference (if set), and the date saved. We use this to show your saved items across visits and to email you if a saved item’s price drops. We check prices on a regular basis and send at most one price-drop email per item per week. You can remove wishlist items or unsubscribe from price alerts at any time — the unsubscribe link is in every alert email, and preferences are also manageable in My Account. We do not use wishlist data for third-party advertising and we do not sell it.
6. Abandoned cart recovery
If you add items to your cart and leave without completing checkout, we may store your cart contents and, if you’ve provided it (e.g., via a checkout field or exit-intent popup), your email address, so we can send you a reminder. We send at most three recovery emails per abandoned cart, spaced at least a day apart, and you can opt out via the unsubscribe link in any recovery email. Abandoned cart data not converted to an order is deleted after 7 days.
7. Our Android app
Our Android app (com.fastgives.app) collects the following in addition to the information above:
- Device data: device identifier, model, OS version, app version, crash logs
- Usage data: in-app browsing, search queries, and screens viewed, via analytics SDKs (e.g. Firebase/Google Analytics, Crashlytics)
- Permissions: camera and photo access (if you upload images, e.g. for a return request), approximate location (for delivery estimates, optional), storage (app cache)
You can review and adjust what the app can access at any time in your device’s Settings > Apps > Fast Gives > Permissions, and disable in-app analytics from within the app’s own Settings > Privacy screen. Uninstalling the app does not delete your Fast Gives account or order history — to delete your account, contact us or use the website.
8. Who we share information with
We share personal information only as needed to run our business:
- CJ Dropshipping — order fulfillment and shipping (see Section 4)
- Payment processors — to securely process payments
- Analytics providers (e.g. Google Analytics) — to understand site/app usage
- Email/SMS service providers — to send order updates and, where opted in, marketing
- Legal authorities — where required by law, court order, or to protect our rights
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for money.
9. How long we keep information
| Data type | Retention |
|---|---|
| Order & account records | As required for tax/accounting purposes, typically 7 years |
| Wishlist data | Until removed by you, or 365 days of inactivity |
| Abandoned cart data | 7 days if not converted to an order |
| Marketing consent/email list | Until you unsubscribe |
| App analytics/device data | Up to 26 months, in line with our analytics provider’s defaults |
10. Your rights under Canadian law (PIPEDA)
As a business operating in Ontario, we handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and how it’s used
- Access and request a copy of your personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Withdraw consent for marketing or non-essential data uses at any time
- File a complaint with us, or with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, if you believe your rights have been violated
11. Your rights under GDPR (EU/UK visitors)
If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — request deletion (“right to be forgotten”)
- Restriction — limit how we process your data
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format
- Objection — object to certain processing, including marketing
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing
Our legal bases for processing include your consent, the necessity to perform our contract with you (fulfilling orders), our legitimate interests (site security, fraud prevention), and legal obligations. Submit a request via our GDPR Data Request form; we respond within 30 days.
12. Your rights under CCPA (California visitors)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to:
- Know what categories of personal information we collect and why
- Request deletion of your personal information (with some exceptions, e.g. order records we must keep for tax purposes)
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — we do not sell personal information for money, but our use of analytics and advertising cookies may be considered “sharing” under CCPA
- Non-discrimination for exercising these rights
Submit a request via our CCPA Request / Opt-Out page; we respond within 45 days.
13. Security
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted checkout (SSL/TLS), restricted internal access to customer data, and secure payment processing — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Children’s privacy
Our Services are not directed at children under 13 (or 16, where applicable local law requires it), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of our Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
